Know, then, that Jehovah your God is God, faithful God, who keeps the covenant and mercy with those who love him and keep his commandments, up to a thousand generations; Deuteronomy 7: 9 King James Version (RVR1960).

God's faithfulness is activated in our lives when we show love for him and keep his commandments.

The word exhorts us that we must first recognize that Jehovah is our God, and that He is a faithful God, who fulfills all that He promises. God's faithfulness includes protection and benefits for up to a thousand generations.

The covenant of the blood of Christ constituted a covenant of grace with which we became children of God. All who have confessed Christ as savior, God made him a son of the kingdom of heaven. From that moment we are under the divine covenant and under the protection of the blood of Christ.

Through Christ, God loved us and through Christ, we love God the Father. Now we know that Jehovah is our God and that he sent his Son Jesus Christ to propitiate man's sins. In Christ, God shows us his faithfulness of love and guarantees us protection, health, food, abundant blessings and eternal life.

In order for all of these blessings from God to reach us, we must show faithful love for God and keep his commandments. The love and obedience of our God is what allows God's fidelity to be activated and covers us with the mantle of his mercy. This promise of God's faithfulness extends to countless generations of us.

We can be sure that we and our children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren will be well protected and blessed under the cover of God. This is the confidence we have in Him, that if we love Him, He will remain faithful to us.
