Devotional: Riches are not to be trusted

in HeartChurch3 years ago

I know how to live with humility and I know how to have abundance; In everything and for everything they teach me, both to be satisfied and to be hungry, to have abundance and to be in need. 13 I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4: 12-13 KJV

Riches are not to be trusted. God blesses and prospers his children as he also allows them to go through situations of scarcity with the best intention of teaching them to live in every situation in life, whether there is need or where there is abundance.

The fact that today you have abundance does not mean that tomorrow you will not need hunger. In life there are relevant scenarios to consider: abundance and scarcity.

Paul teaches the brothers of the Philippian church that they should not focus on the things of this world, that riches cannot occupy the hearts of the children of God, that they should simply be used to satisfy needs and not to worry us. for them and allow them to occupy the first place in our hearts.

The apostle's teaching focuses on the fact that the people of God must learn to live both in situations of abundance and scarcity, however, these things cannot divert our attention from God, because in Christ we can do everything and he gives us strength. Enough to trust that God provides us with wealth or sustains us when times of lean come.

We must be humble when we have riches and in the same way, keep ourselves in simplicity when we face moments of famine, since God is powerful to supply our needs according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

So, do not put your trust in riches because they are all momentary and fleeting, while the giver of riches, who is Christ, remains forever and has a glorious place for each of us, who went to prepare.
