Fuel from cars and airplanes, asphalt from the roads, gas we cook, nail polish, veiled stockings, chewing gum and even some medicines come from petroleum.

But looking for it is not as simple as going to a service station, studies and research and complex equipment are part of this task that lasts several years, depending on the terrain, subsoil and neighboring communities and the information you have.

The word petroleum, means stone oil, since it is an oily substance, black in color that we call hydrocarbon because it is composed of Hydrogen and Carbon.
