Contest alert- All-in-one contest W10: Drawing of a Cat

Greetings, my dear friends. I hope you are all fine as I am. I want to take a moment to appreciate @steemkidss for organising and sustaining this contest. For this week 10, I drew a cat for the kids and parents in the community.

A cat is a small domesticated mammal that is agile and known for its companionship with humans. It is carnivorous in nature and belongs to the same family as the lion and tiger. They spend approximately 70% of their lives sleeping, which translates to about 13 to 16 hours of sleep per day. One other reason for domesticating cats is that they help keep rats away from the house.

Materials for the drawing

• White Plain embossed paper
• Pencil
• Black pen
• Eraser
• Blade
• Cotton wool

Step 1
I first sketched the cat's head. I started with the left ear followed by the centre of the head, and then the second ear. Lastly, I drew the cheek of the cat.

Step 2
I drew the two front legs of the cat and the back.

Step 3
Here, I drew the eyes of the cat beginning with the left eye, after which I drew the second eye. I also drew the mouth of the cat, and lastly, I shaded the nostrils and the black eyelids.

Step 4
I shaded the face and the head of the cat. I first shaded the outline of the head using a stroke and after that, I shaded the entire face and head. Lastly, I put some marks around the nose and on these marks, I drew the whiskers (long hairs). These long hairs are specialised sensory organs that help cats feel, sense, and touch their environment.

Step 5
Here, I shaded the two front legs of the cat. I also shaded the remaining part of the body and after that, I wrote my name and the date on the paper.
