MMA comeback of 2017
Nominees were given and there was a voting process but I just feel like I should break down a little more why Georges-St. Pierre won the "Comeback of the year" award over at Sherdog because of some of the comments on social media. First, he actually left and came back. Granted, he left again as far as we know but still he was absent long enough for people to forget how good he was, doubt him, and pull off a win against a bigger opponent.
Which brings me to my second detail on why he was chosen, this was a risky comeback for him and there were points where Bisping tagged him and it seemed to phase him. He was also noticeably tired as the rounds wore on and was still able to secure a win. One alternative comeback I thought about writing about was TJ Dillashaw's recapturing of the bantamweight title. That fight seemed to lose steam once it got pushed back and overshadowed, but I did try to argue for it and was convinced this comeback mattered more.
I am glad I changed my mind, but what come back's can you remember from the year worth remembering Steemians? Off the top of my head, I would have to mention Aaron Pico's KO of Justin Linn after his own loss to Zach Freeman in June.

STOPYeah. It is not even close. A retired Legend coming back, taking on a Champion in a higher weight class and winning despite the adversity.
GSP by 50-45
