Flying. What dreams are made of.
I recently saw a video on youtube where a guy takes a two stroke motor that has a propeller, straps it to his back, pulls a bed sheet looking thing over his head and flies 15,000 feet above sea level...I watched a couple more of the videos he had posted and instantly became addicted. Within a month or so I had found someone selling their equipment, and so I messaged them and picked up my very own paraglider wing and harness. It started off with learning to "kite" the wing in the park. After a few trips to the park and the learning the fundamentals I found a local glider port where they allow paragliding. After talking to a couple of paraglider pilots, I found myself launching into the air. My first flight was about 30 seconds, but I soon found myself launching and flying a little better and a little farther each time.
Each time I recorded my progress with a gopro and a camera at the landing. One pilot recommended that I make a log book and record every flight so I did. By the way, I did get insurance before I started flying. Its not the safest sport. I currently have 28 logged flights, and have around 30 minutes in the air. Super fun! See you in the air!
Way to go @captainobviou3 , I need some private flying lessons too......winks
Love it! Look me up when you are in SD. There are a bunch of cool places to fly here!
will keep that in my diary mate......
Great intro. Welcome to Steemit. Stephen
Thank you! Glad to be here!
Welcome to Steemit!
Thank you daveks!
There is something about the freedom of flying that is addictive. I got my PPL license sometime ago, haven't flown for a little while (too expensive!) but also look forward to getting up in the air! Enjoy!
Good Job! You are a part of a minority of people. You would do very good in free flight paragliding because you understand air/weather. Hope to see you in the air sometime.
GREAT!
