How do you know when you've created great work? I know what I see is great work for me, but I'm interested in how do you know when you've created something that you immediately believe is great? Hope you enjoy this discovery series on building a business.

Great work for me is something that I feel proud of. Normally I create my best work when I’m in that flow state of mind. I’m excited for New Eden Studios and the work you’ll be sharing through it. Also, would you mind sharing how you decided on that name for your company?

That's great that your sons are interested in it. Good luck with your company start up. "great" work is relative. I hope everything in 2019 is GREAT for you!
Thank you I appreciate the well wishes. I've enjoyed the process so far. I've been involved in multiple start ups over the years, so this is territory I've been through, however, this is the first of a video production company so I like the process I'm learning. I figure the sharing of things along the way is not only a great way to document the journey, but might help someone else out there perhaps.
Without a doubt man. Really cool. There aint nothing wrong with learning as you go and you've got a great base foundation of knowledge I think you're gonna be great.

I have some booked work already for 2019, and more opportunities in the pipeline so I'm encouraged I might be able to find a couple of more jobs out there to do ;)
Great question Cpt. I believe that a definition for a great work is passion and enthusiasm, specially when talking about vLogging.
Even though it sounds way too abstract, some times we can feel that the person is happy doing the video, or is excited about showing something on the video. Quality comes with time through an extensive learning process and equipment upgrades, but none of those will be usefull if there's no passion and enthusiasm involved.
Now, as for quality vs quantity, I always advice new users to focus on quantity without losing to much on quality. A portion of quality will be affected of course, but it's needed to mantain the presence. I wouldn't go full quality if people can't find my content.

Great work is something I think about all the time... it's tricky, especially when you're just starting out, because you might put heart and soul into something that hardly anyone sees... but I think the thing that people forget is that if people enjoy your work, they'll go and consume your backlog. So, just because people may not see it at the time you release it, doesn't mean it won't ever be appreciated.
Love that the family is getting involved and specializing. That's amazing!
