Tottenham Hotspur ends preseason woefully

It was a disappointing way of ending the pre season matches for Tottenham Hotspur has they lost horribly to Girona on Saturday night. Although many of us believe it s friendly match and don’t need to be paid much attention but it can be a clue of what shape the team is currently in.

Does the loss mean danger in the coming season for Tottenham?

Looking at Tottenham preseason record, the teams got good results until their final friendly went bad against Girona where they suffered a 4-1 defeat. Tottenham participated at the International Champions Cup and had victories against Roma, Milan and a draw with Barcelona where they came from behind to draw the match that later resulted into a win for the Spanish side after penalty.
Definitely the Tottenham Hotspur fans won’t be happy having results like this at the commencement of the English Premier League.

In their loss against Girona, Tottenham looked like the brighter side in the beginning of the match when they scored 13th minutes into the match, Lucas Moura gave Spur the lead. Girona Juanpe cancels Lucas Moura goal in the 22nd minute with an equalizer.

Anthony Lozano gave Girona the lead in the 34th minute, the first half ended with Girona winning after they came from behind.

Eight minute after the second half kicked off, Cristian Portu scored Girona third and Aleix Garcia scored the fourth goal for Girona.

Despite Tottenham attacking power, they had to settle on Moura goal as a consolation. Tottenham will start the 2018/19 Premier League campaign against Newcastle United on the 11th of August 2018.
