INTERACTION WITH THE RURAL PEOPLE

I visited a rural area yesterday with the aim of knowing more people and to interact with new set of people. This are the people that labour and toil day and night to ensure that food is available for everyone to eat, they do not care about their health cos they believe in their inner strength, they work tirelessly to ensure the whole and ever increasing population is well catered for on food matters. so there is the need to show them some love. The journey started around 10 am in the morning with some of my friends and after an hour drive, we got to our destination.

The place is located along Lagos-Ibadan express way and it has up to 25 different houses (locally built with the exception of some houses). we also discovered that there are about 15 different families in the region.

On getting there, we met with families but we chose just one family to interact with cos it will not be possible to interact with all the families. during our discussion we were told so many things about the place including the major work which is done by the people there.

The major occupation is farming (crop production)
The major crop produced is cassava and others include maize, pepper, tomato, groundnut.

I was unable to learn much about the history of the place because the one who knows much about the history of the place was not around.

i also learned something on palm oil production and garri production though it was theoretical and not practical. below are some of the pictures i was able to take with a friend's phone cos my phone was not with me and below are some of the pictures i took at the family's place

I also ensured i crush the palm fruit after eating it and sucking life out of it

Having spent five hours enjoying with the villagers, we left the place having put smiles on their faces. I could not introduce them to steemit cos there is no network there. I must confess, i enjoyed my time there.
