Pink Roses- Watercolor painting

in #art8 years ago (edited)

I got some watercolor pencils from my mother for christmas this year. I have never been good with watercolors but with these pencils it is pretty fun, the colors get super bright.

First I draw the roses with the pencils and then I use a paintbrush with water to paint the picture. The colors get really bright when water is added.

Thank you for posting @camilla. Lovely art....the roses have a freshness and beauty about them....especially when one knows roses can be difficult...you have made it look effortless. Well done.

Have you been to the Derwent factory...it is a lovely place to visit...and have tea.

All the best. Cheers.

Where is the Derwent factory? It sounds like the perfect place for me :D

Thank you for your reply @camilla.

Apologies it is the Cumberland Pencil Museum in Cumbria.....momentarily under renovation...should not be long now as it was to reopen earlier this month. What is particularly lovely about it...is that its shoppe carried the full range of pencils...besides the tea room.

Here is a link to their website...it appears the shoppe is open with the rest of the museum to reopen later.

Hope this helps...the history is fascinating...bleujay does hope you have opportunity to visit.

All the best. Cheers.

I think I could spend a whole day at this museum :D It is definitely on my bucket-list. Thank you for the link.

Pretty work. The pencils are also good for drawing out a composition before painting with watercolours, as the lines will blend in.

Thank you for the tip! I will have to practice more with watercolor, it sure is fun!

Your doing a great job with these!

thank you ^^ that means a lot coming from you
