The Pill Man (Poem)

in #poem8 years ago (edited)

It is like going slowly insane
Feeling a gash that isn’t there
The blood flow on your brain
Bleeding out into your hair

The moving pain of his knife
Lacing patterns across your skull
Invisible lines of yawning slice
Your vision creeping dull

You feel his hands grip your head
Pushing you down, keeping you still
“This is what you get instead
Because you didn’t take the pill”

Maybe he was always there
Beyond what you can see
And you just weren’t aware
Of the real, reality...

The poem that inspired the story The Pill Man - the truth of migraines

I have been meaning to enter this in @stevescoins Halloween Contest all month, and only just making it now! Last day to enter so get over there and show him what you've got!

Photo Credit which is another great piece by Pixabay user Mystic Art Design which is the same image I used for the story
