**Find them.. Feed them.. Catch them!**

For many years the Blue pools have been a favourite place to fish for me. I know the water like the back of my hand and even seen it drained out back in the early 1990 as a kid.
The lakes are old clay quarries dating back to the roman times and even has a Roman mosaic tiled floor at the far end where they had Roman baths built.
With just the evenings fishing and a short stay on the cards I had to locate the fish if I had any chance of catching one. 20180528_210453.jpgAfter a walk around both lakes there seemed to be a few signs of life but the carp looked very sluggish on the surface as they basked in the hot sun. None the less the traps were set and the bait of choice was luncheon meat!
While the sun was up there was no bites showing and the carp had stayed cruising on the surface. I decided to feed the margins with 6mm feed pellets and small cubes of meat in the hope that when the sun goes down, the carp will search the margins.
Finally the first screaming reel came as it turned dusk with the rod bent over and the fish was on!20180528_214735.jpgQuickly landing the carp to the net knowing she was only small I set up again and placed the bait in the same spot again and made a cup of tea.
The kettle had hardly boiled when there was a small enquiry at the bait followed by the reel stripping line and a huge bow wave darting for the center of the lake. Finally a better fish had shown its self to me.20180528_220133.jpgWeighing just over 12lb it was a good fight right to the net considering it had taken a good 200 yards of line and hid itself in a big weed bank. With fish two in the net I couldnt help but try for a third.
The swim had been well and truly interupted with the last carp so I decided to cast the bait out a bit further where the water depth changed quite a bit.

I figured that after the commotion of the last carp the remaining carp will have seeked refuge in the deep hole just beyond where I had caught the last two.
Sure enough it didn't take long for the rod to slowly start paying line out as if the carp didn't know it was hooked. Slowly lifting into the bite to set the hook sent it into chaos as she soon woke up taking me around to the left of the swim into what we call dead tree bay.
She settled herself between the broken dead trees and resisted capture for a good 10 mins before kiting across the lake into the open where I could apply the pressure and finally land her.20180529_000909.jpgweighing a good 14.6lb I felt it a great time to end the session and pack up on a high.

Thanks for taking the time to share my fishing adventure and if you liked this then follow me @callmecrypto for more great fishing adventures.

You have a minor misspelling in the following sentence:

The swim had been well and truely interupted with the last carp so I decided to cast the bait out a bit further where the water depth changed quite a bit.
It should be truly instead of truely.
