The Internet Was Just The Beginning, The Next Wave Of Progress Is Coming
Im going to be blunt and just say it, I think were living in an important time, perhaps the fastest moving and innovative time that mankind has ever seen. Its hard to see this, as most of the time we are just living our daily lives, going to school, work , ect, but make no mistake it is happening. In the last 30 years alone the world has transformed from mostly closed off loops to a level of interconnectivity between people that we could have imagined at the time.
Most people think the internet WAS THE invention that changed the world, but I would argue the internet is only the catalyst and in the words of Frank Sinatra, “The best is yet to come and babe wont it be fine”. With the internet offering a level of interconnectivity between people on a social level and crypto offering a level of interconnectivity between people on a monetary level, we have a base for complete and utter life changing possibilities.
I have made posts before on this blog, but I believe the next step will be digital economies are now poised to become more developed and an actual reality beyond science fiction. The days of commuting to an office, when the efficiency might be just to telecommunicate for much cheaper costs, might be coming to an end. We now have the basis to pay people all around the world to work on projects not located in any specific place but on the internet. Why do we need a company like Steemit to register in a certain country or state, pay taxes, or operate by rules when it can exist completely on the internet.
More and more we will see projects like Steemit which exist solely on the internet and have no reason to incorporate, but will be able to pay their employees in cryptocurrency which they can pull out anywhere in the world. We need to achieve worldwide mass adoption, but I honestly don’t think that this is a matter of if, but a matter of when. We are already seeing exponential growth in new users year after year and this isn’t likely to just stop out of thin air.
This is because crypto fused with the internet serves a purpose and lets anyone, whether you are a kid in Bangladesh with a $100 laptop or a millionaire in Silicon Valley, the tools to start a successful venture. More than ever we are going to see more and more projects propping up, not financed by traditional venture capitalists, but regular people who believe in them. The most important part of bringing us into the next wave of developments is having people who are passionate in doing so, and we don’t lack those in this space.
In fact I have started keeping a tech journal that I am writing projects in when I see them so perhaps in the future I can look back and see how we have evolved. I want to keep track of where things are moving and what projects are being worked on and chronicle the evolution of this space at a time where it seems like no one is watching. Were still at the base level here and this is still the beginning, but the beginning of a new era that we vastly change our world in the next 20-30 years.
As I was trying to explain a bit more about the advancements of technology and cryptos last night, she referred to the coming times as being the sixth waves of technological evolution...
Things are changing quickly and drastically right now and it makes me wonder how long till something breaks!? Thanks for an excellent article on the situation. Namaste :)
I do agree, that without the internet we would not be able, to begin anything similar to this project nor have the ability. However is there a way we can guarantee that we will still be able to access this site or others similar, when not if, when, the respective governments start to clamp down on sites such as these because they are not able to claim tax revenue from them. I agree that as we progress and move forward we will need sites such as this, and means to achieve our goals, as both individuals and as groups. i know we need a core set of rules and ideals regardless of belief or up bringing but working as a whole, for the greater good of the total populace, not the typical mentality me before you, or i before we. As the world starts to work together as one, we are more able to talk, spread news and ideas, however to this day man kind, tries to use its anonymity as means of degrading or destroying one another. I am fully agreed with full freedom of speech, even if its hate speech, we are able to think, we are all able to choose how we act and what we do. what we realistically need to do, is return the internet to what it was truly intended for, information, and freedom of it. Until we can stand as one we will never achieve this, when you look at the world, the majority of the issues that occur have come from a need not want, need for legal tender or currency. in your book of ideas and thoughts, i would greatly like to help with this, and a means we may be able to achieve the ability to help others through means such as crowd funding.
any way digression, my point is, is there some way we can set up independent countries or states where by, we can remove the issues that are causing the break down of our societies and create or set up impartial systems that are truly just, that can not be corrupted or destroyed.
i would like to start up a program that we can use, with say an A.I. as a moderator that observes clarifies and checks what is said, the benefits of it and negatives and is able to present the most likely cause with the lowest liability and causality of the greatest benefit to the masses, please respond and help me expand upon this idea.
Kind Regards Hynds
I've been thinking of recording a video time capsule of all the current tech and innovation we have today, and watching it in maybe 5 or 10 years and truly understand how much things can change in that amount of time.
Internet 3.o is the shit!!!
It really is hard to comprehend, from the leaps and bounds of the industrial revolution a little over a hundred years ago, to what we're living through today... so much change, and at such a pace. Can only hazard a guess at where we'll be in 5, 10, or 30 years from today
