Natural Health - Cleaning Water with Chlorine Dioxide

in #health6 years ago (edited)

Greetings friends!

Water is a daily necessity for us all, and when you're living nomadically you often have to get creative about where you're finding it. My favorite spot is from streams or other running water sources, but there is still the problem of microbes to deal with.

There are a lot of good camping filters which do the job, but they're tedious... and I'm pretty lazy. Chlorine Dioxide had been used by backpackers for decades as a safe way to disinfect their water, and it's my preferred method. At the right doses it may also alleviate various health conditions. To learn more about that, do an internet search on "MMS".

If you appreciate and want to support my work, please consider buying me something to eat at http://feedawizard.org. Send me an email ([email protected]) if you're interested in a private coaching session as my way of saying thanks.

interesting =) Your knowledge in chemistry is quite impressive! I used regular chlorine here to disinfect water. My main concern here are parasites, which we all suffer from regularly since we're drinking rain water. I only put a few drops in a 5 gallon bottle and normally you don't taste it at all. But never heard of your mixture =) Thanks for sharing!

@jacobpeacock was saying something similar about bleach. Do you let it evaporate out for awhile before drinking?

Have you tried food grade diatomaceous earth for a parasite cleanse? Cuts the skin of and dehydrates the parasites. Works best on full and new moon when they're more active and reproducing.

Hi @cahlen. Your the second person who I know who knows about MMS! A friend of mine,he is dead now rip, he introduced me to it around 5 years back!

It's strangely suppressed knowledge, especially for a substance that was widely used and known to be safe for a long time. Have you tried it yourself?

I didnt try it as I wasnt sick, but I saw people take it for meds and it helped alot for various things.. They guy who had it was a traveller on horsedrawn in Ireland for most his life then settled in south Spain when I knew him. He went to Kenya to help with perma farms and got malaria and didnt take the normal medication for it and died.. I bet he believed the solution would kill off maleria, but just for the record- it didnt :)

Interesting, I wonder if he did try MMS after all. Would be good information.

I can imagine he did, he was always telling everyone of it.. If ever someone was sick , he would be like " hey I'll go get something for you!" .. I wasnt in Africa with him but I can guarantee that he would have tried using it for the malaria
edit: Ive had maleria twice and the first time i had to wait 24 hours until i got the meds as I didnt know it was maleria.. Then the second time i got it I realised the symptoms and go tthe tablets much sooner :)

White people must take the meds as we have no kind of immunity to it.. I would go visit friends when I was in Africa and one mate i remember was sick. I asked him if it was the flu by the way he was looking and moving around and he said - "no, its the maleria".. When I had it i was rolling on the floor sweating and shaking feeling like I was about to die, and african people seem to just get like flu symptoms and can even take traditional medicine from plants etc to get rid of it, but white people- no chance!

Yep i take MMS. What's to consider there is that Vit. C must not be ingested 6 hours before and after taking it. Yeah love Jim H.

Glad you mentioned that @immarojas. MMS is an oxidant, so any antioxidant will negate the effects.

So true.. kinda tedious that 6 hours pre and post but i believe in what it can do.
How about baking soda..have you try that?

Not yet, though I've heard good things about it. Have you tried it?

1 teaspoon in a glass of water..felt weird.

Felt weird to drink, or your body felt weird after?

The taste was weird..i am not confident that it helped but i had the beginning of a cold that disappeared the day after. I think that for its' benefits...perhaps it's best to just have a cuppa daily. I still have to do a bit of reading about it.

Where do you get your MMS? Ours is from Australia where before, we were buying from the US.

I get mine from https://g2sacraments.org

I contacted the guy and he arranged a good deal on a bulk order.

The chlorine dioxide method of treating water is one that I somehow totally forgot over the years. I usually just add an appropriate amount of bleach to the water and then let it evaporate. Thanks for the reminder!

Whoa bleach, eh? How long does it take to evaporate out?

Yeah good old off the shelf eighty-nine cents a gallon generic bleach! My rule of thumb with it (at the correctly diluted levels) is twenty-four hours. It gets a pretty bad rap but the stuff is really useful and rather benign because of it's rapid evaporation. I avoid creating any grey water by using it for hand washing, bathing and washing my clothes. Also when necessary treating water that I find to be suspect. I highly suggest reading up on it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sodium_hypochlorite Especially the 'Uses' section and 'Environmental impact' section.

That's great information to have, thank you!

You are very welcome @cahlen!

Drink safe water, be healthy........@cahlen

Very good article! What a helpful tips, thanks for sharing this. I've never try this but I am willing to try it. I've heard about MMS in the past but never paid attention to it, but since we will go camping next week, I want to try it this time.

I hope you'll let us know how it goes if you end up trying it.

Sure, I will. Thanks buddy
