ColorChallenge – Sunday Purple : Japanese Kimono
One of the places we stopped at, on our tour of Japan, was Fujiwara Heritage Park, also known as Esashi Fujiwara no Sato. This is a theme park that was built as a Heian Period City. It is located in Oshu City, which is the birthplace of Kiyohira, the first lord of the Oshu-Fujiwara clan.
The Fujiwara Heritage Park contains many reconstructed buildings of the Heian period and that is why it is frequently used as a shooting location for many Samurai movies, TV shows and commercials. In fact while visiting, they were doing an actual location filming for a movie. It was very exciting to see.
The above picture is a Heian Kimono Costume that visitors to the park can try on and have their picture taken. As you can see, this is a beautiful picture of one of the many kimonos worn for picture taking. I love the beauty of the deep purple color and Japanese design pattern. It was an extremely fun and educational visit.
Japan has many places to visit and experience. The food, natural beauty of nature and the people made my visit a very pleasant one. I look forward to returning soon.

Kinakomochi, it is so funny, because ever since I was young I loved the color purple. It must be because I am not noble but want to be! lol. Thank-you so much for your support. I'm trying to participate more but I am a very slow at this. I spend more time writing comments than doing posting. But my daughter feels doing writing is a good exercise to keep my brain sharp as I age. She wants me to live to 120. She is very ambitious! Again, thank-you!!!
