The Water Garden - Day 8
Dex is checking out Gillbert! I think they will become great friends! Ok maybe he's more interested in the spare seeds I have sitting on the side but a man can dream!
Gillbert is doing very well, his water seems to be clearing up a tiny bit which is good. I did a bit more investigating into the rogue root and discovered:
A whole bunch of seeds growing underneath my planters! Not really sure if I should do anything about them or not. I could maybe scoop them out and try to relocate them into my planters or just leave them and see what happens. I sort of feel like it could turn into a mess down there if I don't get it all cleaned up so relocating might be my best option.
And here is the water garden in all it's glory! It's just wild how fast everything has been growing. The microgreen radishes are out of control. I decided to eat one today and they are just packed with flavor, almost a little bit peppery and probably great on a sandwich. Next week at this time we might be eating a water garden sandwich and drinking a water garden smoothie.
I wish the wheatgrass had a bit better density. You can still see a good number of seeds that haven't sprouted yet but even after they sprout I don't think our harvest is going to be very abundant. Next round I will add more seeds.
I followed the instructions for the first round of plants but I would like to experiment a bit with what can be grown here. I know I can do herbs but I grow a bunch of herbs in my hydroponics garden. I will have to do a bit of research and find out what other people have had success with in small scale aquaponics.
Fun times in the water garden ahead!
Man I feel like I need to try some Aquaponics, I have a killer Hydro set up but haven't ventured into these woods yet!
I think it would be fairly simple to build one. Just need a little setup to pump the water to the plants and drain back into the aquarium.
The green colour of various hydroponic plants seems to make the mood rise. I also really like gardening and behind my house many plants that can be picked without having to be purchased. I really like the angle of shooting.
So happy Gilbert made a new friend!
you did a great work @caab
He's no longer quite as lonely!
