Weightloss Wednesday: Product Review
I'm posting this week about the things I'm using. I don't have a photo comparison at the moment, because honestly I don't generally have much visible progress on a week to week basis. Since I am having success with weight loss, I thought I would share a few of the products I've found that I like that are helping me. I don't make anything off of these, I'm not selling anything, just sharing what has helped me. Most of these things I bought from amazon, except for the fasciablaster (which is actually now available on amazon as well), but if you have any questions, comment below and I'll see if I can help.)
Things that are working for me:
Water Intake: In the morning I gather up my water bottles. They each hold 50.7 ounces of water and my goal is to drink at least 150 ounces of water daily. I fill up all four of them, just to make sure I have plenty :) I keep them lined up on my desk so I can see my progress throughout the day.
Nuun Tablets: These are electrolyte tablets that I started using to help with detox symptoms from using the fasciablaster and from losing weight. They are also supposed to help if you’re doing low carb or intermittent fasting. These tablets in particular are my favorite flavor and give just a hint of taste to my water. I use about 1-2 a day.
Oxylent: This is a multivitamin powder that I add to my first waterbottle of the day. I am horrible about taking medicine and I hate taking pills of any kind. I avoid it as much as possible. These vitamin packets taste GREAT and help me not only take my vitamins every day, but also helps me to not get bored with drinking ‘plain’ water all the time.
Quest Bars: These are definitely a splurge item for me. They’re low carb bars and although I don’t do any type of “low carb” diet, I enjoy these bars, they help me get my protein in and they make it so that I can allot my carbs to other things like my favorite fruits (apples or frozen grapes). My favorite flavors thus far are #1. Double Chocolate Chunk and 2. Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. The Raspberry white chocolate has a bit too much “sweet” taste to it, but it’s still one I’ll choose if I happen to be craving that flavor. I don’t care for the brownie flavor (but I’ll be eating them for a while because I accidentally ordered a box of 12 and didn’t notice it wasn’t the one I wanted until I ate one!
Nature’s Calm Magnesium: I started taking this two months ago because it was supposed to help with sleep. I got in the habit of taking a teaspoon mixed in water every night before bed. Then I ran out… and holy beans! They’re right when they say that magnesium helps with muscle cramps!!! I ran out and about a week later, I started having muscle cramps a LOT. Bad ones. My back, especially, would cramp up at night and keep me awake. Then I noticed my legs and calves cramping up. I finally remembered to order more, started taking it again and the muscle cramps started easing up again.
And, last but not least: The Fascia Blaster. This tool has been amazing for me.
I found it back in late March and ordered it. Literally within DAYS of using it, I saw changes. That inspired me to make more changes and led me on this journey of FINALLY losing weight that I’m still on now! Using the fasciablaster has helped get rid of all of the symptoms of my carpal tunnel, helped an ankle injury, helped me with knee and back pain and has helped with the loose skin that I fully expected to deal with due to having carried around an extra 100 pounds for 5 years.
I may write a longer post on this in the future if anyone is interested, but for now… Let’s just say that I am a FIRM believer in this tool.
Next week I am going to write more about my experience with intermittent fasting as well as my hopeful progress on the scale :)
See you tomorrow with more creative writing and probably more life stuff!
Thank you for reading!
This is a great review, you've had so much success I think it's great to hear what's working for you. Seams like nothing to crazy or fad either seams like some very reasonable tools.
Nah, I did the yoyo thing and so many fad diets to count over the last 30 years. I'm going to sustainable and healthy at this point! :) Thank you for your comment!
Sounds intetesting, would like to know more. Good luck with it all. Eat less, exercise much more, love yourself, think about anything and everything else to distract you. Give yourself realistic goals and persevere through plateaus.
Unfortunately it's not always "eat less"! Move more? Absolutely! But some of us spent so much time eating less... and then less and less until we nearly starved ourselves. I feel like that was part of the reason that my metabolism and my adrenal system crashed on me 6 years ago.
For me, the answer was to eat MORE. I was never eating enough for my body to actually thrive, much less have the energy to exist in a healthy way. So I would say "Eat the right amount for your body and move more" would be more accurate. To this day, my weight loss stalls if I drop my calories too low. It was a hard thing to get used to, but I'm healthy, not starving or cranky because I'm so hungry all the time AND losing weight :)
yes, sorry if i sounded patronising or something. i didn't mean to at all. We all find what works for us.
Oh, not at all! I didn't find your comment patronizing in any way. I just heard the 'eat less, move more for so many decades and I know that a LOT of women hear it and keep lowering their calories more and more and more, so I just wanted to clarify that it isn't always the answer, especially if your calories are ALREADY low.
I appreciate your input :)
