Thoughts for the day - 2/22/18
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

Being a youth minister (retired), I have seen much pain and fear in the lives of so many children which more often than not is directly related to their family environment. Often the child feels that the measures they are receiving are due to their inability to please, perform or live up to the standards set by a parent or guardian. They suffer abuses both physical and mentally from their "loving" parents.
My initial response to them is:
- No one deserves to be abused and you have done NOTHING to deserve this.
- Our Lord desires all to know his Love and this most certainly includes you. You are so precious!
- Evil is at work at all times destroying relationships and families, do not let it control you also.
- Let us pray for those in your life who are so influenced by evil, that they and you may be healed.
Children ages 1 to 125, you are precious and made perfect in true love, a love that drives out fear and heals all wounds.
If you know "someone" who has been abused by "love" then share this simple message that has now been shared with you.

It's so sad that a huge percentage of the worst crimes are done in 'good intentions'.
Most wrong programming are from parents who thought they were doing right, but were only causing hurt. I have come to realize that our idea of what love is will not cut it, unless it tallies with what the Bible defines love as.
When we compare our idea of love with that of 1 Corinthians 13, we know where we are going wrong.

Yes, comparing our love to the love Jesus showed for everyone even in His death really puts our efforts to shame. But it is the Holy Spirit in us that grows to close this gap and with Christ, all things are possible.

Well said! I think we also need to remember that no human is perfect and thus no parents are perfect. The one of the most important thing, for adults, teens, and/or kids is to know that they are valued greatly in God's eye and that our value comes only from God, which He showed us how valuable we are on the cross that He died on. :)

I say to those who are suffering, offer them up to God, in union with Christ's sufferings. Then there will be no more fear but love.

Knowing that during the last days, love will cool-off (Matt 24:12), Jesus had this penned down (ROM 13:8) to remind us that we owe others nothing but LOVE , for without love we are nothing (1cor 13:2)
