Heading back home

Well my experiment as a travel blogger was a total bust. The good news? I really enjoyed my trip. The bad news, I have almost no pictures and stories to share with all of you. The main goal of my trip was to visit friends and family. We did lots of that and it is very nice to get to send time with people you just can't see all the time.

My wife's Grandma had fallen right before we went and had a pretty swollen lip while we were there. Most of our time with her was spent watching the enws and discussing what time we should eat. She was a bit embarrassed of her swollen lip so she didn't want to go out anywhere and insisted on cooking us food we didn't want to eat. Grandma is a stubborn old lady but it was still nice to spend time with her.

The rest of our time (besides when we snuck away for our pedicures) was spent with my wife's best friend and her family. They have a hyper 2 year old boy and it was her husband's birthday while we were there. I really enjoy spending time with them and wished they didn't live so far away. They were much less stubborn than Grandma.

Five days away just wasn't long enough and we probably won't be heading back that way until the summer. I'm glad to be headed back home but I could have mixed in an extra day or two of just relaxing.
