The Rarely Seen Surface of Venus
This is a rare photograph taken in 1982 by a Russian probe. The Venera 13 probe was the 4th and final probe to reach the surface of Venus and successfully send data back to Earth. Temperatures up to 900 degrees Fahrenheit and atmospheric pressure more than 90 times that of our planet make it extremely difficult for equipment to function and humans have yet to send another craft to the surface of Venus.
