Things (A Lover's Muse)
Things
Hours and hours
And days from time
The memory of space
Heavens and demons
And gold and slime .
Doves and hawks
The songs and silences
Of Paupers and popes
The priests and marauders,
And wars of peace
Soldiers and saints
Truth and hate
Love with fire
Of death and sleep
And brimstone
with hail of
Verses from
Jon Bellion and Sia.
Rain , snow
Sickness and hale
And life and death,
Pale, pale cheeks
Warmed up bloodstream .
The suns and stars
With the moon,
Blue sky with sea
And silvery mountains
All lie between the lips
Of you and Me.
Author's notes
This poem mirrors the beauty of human relationships, even it's fullness and completeness. Something as trivial as a simple kiss may mean the whole world to someone, depending on the value they attach to it.
Value is only valuable when it is valued
Written in simple style free verse the lover muses that all of history and even future and present converges into one single tiny moment of a kiss.
