The Scientific Reason Why Cannabis Heals Many
Q: The Reason Why Cannabis Has The Ability To Heal?
A: Endocannabinoid System
Have you heard of that? Neither has the spell check in this text box. In fact,
I am willing to bet that your Dr has not either!
Every healthcare professional who I have seen in the last 3 years
has fielded the same question from me, "Hey, do you know what our Endocannabinoid system is?"
99.99% of the time the answer remains consistently "No." Meanwhile, everything vertebrate has one, spiders too!
Without further adieu:
Our Endocannabinoid system helps to regulate our digestive system, immune system, and neurological system.
I will include some links to respectable sources that will help you better understand why cannabis has the ability to heal so many different ailments. Theoretically, when we are able to dial in such major system like the 3 I just mentioned, our bodies can get back into gear. Our immune system working in conjunction with our digestive system helps to keep us clean and strong, and of course our neurological system is truly our bodies internet for cell communication. Enough listening to me, I am no Dr or healthcare professional for that matter. I am a patient turned healer who loves what I do.
Here are some links, check out what the experts have to say!
"The endogenous cannabinoid system is an ubiquitous lipid signaling system that appeared early in evolution and which has important regulatory functions throughout the body in all vertebrates." - article link below
- OxfordJournal - The Endocannabinoid System: Physiology and Pharmacology http://alcalc.oxfordjournals.org/content/40/1/2

"The most well known cannabinoid receptors are CB1 and CB2. Studies in the early 1990s provided initial evidence of the existence and purpose of CB1 and CB2 receptors. Both types of cannabinoid receptors are found throughout the entire body, but are distributed differently. CB1 receptors are concentrated primarily in the brain, while CB2 receptors are mainly found in the immune system. However, CB1 receptors are also distributed in a variety of peripheral areas like adipose (fat) tissue, and CB2 receptors are expressed to some degree in the brain." - Justin Kander

https://www.medicaljane.com/2015/02/28/a-brief-overview-of-the-endocannabinoid-system/

"The endocannabinoid system is involved with many basic functions. It is believed to play a role in memory, mood, sleep, appetite, pain and immune response. It also affects a number of physiological processes including circulation, energy metabolism and organ function.
Besides maintaining basic functions, the endocannabinoid system acts in response to illness. For example, tumor cells have been shown to express more cannabinoid receptors than healthy cells. Studies also show a rise in endocannabinoid levels in patients with disorders such as arthritis and Parkinson’s disease.
As a result, some scientists believe the overall function of this system is to regulate homeostasis." -
I think this should be enough for my first post about this subject!
Thanks for reading!
In order to heal our world, we first must learn to heal ourself!
I don't smoke but I think it will be legal for recreational use in ARizona and California soon. I upvoted you. Please consider upvoting my post. https://steemit.com/steemit/@brianphobos/an-olympian-needs-our-help-steemit-please-read-this-if-you-have-ever-been-passionate-about-something
