The thing about Socialism..

Socialism won't cure poverty and scarcity, it will only create more of both. First of all, capitalism HAS SOLVED the poverty problem. Never have the general masses of men risen to such a high standard of living than in the nations which embraced market economies.

The reason people are poor is that they have not gained access to or have been prevented from entering a capitalist marketplace in which to sell his labor or goods. The third world remains poor because they don't have the legal structure which enables them to capitalize on their assets nor do they have any incentive to produce goods for sale because they cannot access even a sliver of the global marketplace.

Like a gardener we can only create hospitable environments for growth but the plants must do the growing themselves. We can no sooner construct a political economy like a machine than we can nail leaves to trees and expect it grow.
