Inception Week 4 - Awareness
Failure is only postponed success as long as courage 'coaches' ambition. The habit of persistence is the habit of victory. - Herbert Kaufman
To this point, on a weekly basis at least, I have managed to remain consistent with workouts. I am noticing, especially in regards to swimming that one workout per week is not sufficient enough if I want a gradual progression toward my goal. I will need up the number of swims per week if I want to see better results.
In terms of diet, I have not made any radical changes yet. What I am noticing though is that my body is more aware of the effects certain foods is having. I notice a more prominent discernment between what a good solid meal feels like compared to a fast food.
Here are my achievements for the week:
Running
3.1 KM @ 21m 11s ( Mix of Run / Walk )
6.1 Beep Test
Swimming
400M ( 50M intervals, a mix of breaststroke and freestyle )
In conclusion
Happy with my consistency to this point but will now need to make harder decisions with regard to diet and number of training sessions.

Diet's the big one for me. I follow the low carbs thing because I'm type 2 diabetic and don't want to be on meds. It worked for 18 months but I began to slip and spent a couple of years damaging myself. I got well again a couple of months ago and have noticed the slippage starting again. I had two chocolate-coated strawberries and a marshmallow yesterday. It has to stop! Damn you, sweet tooth.
But seriously, if I don't stay on the right path, I will have to go on meds.
I used to swim a lot and miss it. All I have now is walking and I try and do at least a mile a day up a big hill with the dogs. Doesn't always happen though. I'm my own worst enemy.
That sounds really tough @camuel .Fantastic that you face diabetes head on through your diet. Diet must be one of the hardest things to either start or stop out of all life's challenges. I avoid buying, but still cannot say no to chocolate and when I do get hold of it, I am like a wild animal on a carcass. I used to smoke many years ago. I tried to quit every week without success, until I found a strategy that worked for me. I carried around a water bottle with me and every time I craved a cigarette, I would drink water until I could fit no more in. I replaced the craving with something else. This worked for me and I finally ended that addiction. I still crave, but its now easy to turn away. Dnt think I'm ready to try that yet for chocolate tho😂
