RE: Connecticut’s New Drone and Surveillance Program Is An Orwellian Nightmare
The problem really isn't with surveillance. In fact, far more cameras and far more eyes are needed to do the job of actually catching criminals.
The problem comes when the state uses the cameras to bust all manner of inconsequential crime, like littering or bubblegum.
We all commit three felonies a day. Most of us do not even know there is a law against it. It is what we have done all our lives.
And so, as usual, police go after the easy group, the ones who don't fight back, like pot smokers. They never go after the actual crime, as for the most part, they are a part of it.
