Langos in Balatonlelle
The Langos is one of the main hungarian dishes. It might not be considered a serious dish in the Hungarian gastronomy, but it is still one of the most popular things to eat, especially during the sumer.
I have a habit of visiting Balatonlelle every summer, and one of the best places to eat this Hungarian food is on the beach in Balatonlelle.
There are some beaches in Balatonlelle for which you have to pay, but here it is completely free, and you only pay for what you possibly buy in the restaurant. The restaurant consists of three parts, one where you can buy main dishes (like Bolognese, Hungarian stew, Wiener Schnitzel and more), one where you can buy drinks, and then the place where you can buy pancakes and langos. The price of one langos is around 2 Euro. This is fairly expensive compared to the cheapest you can find in Budapest, but compared to popular tourist places and the prices in other countries, it is still a fair price.
The langos is popular both among young and old, and here you can see some kids ordering langos in Balatonlelle.
There are some benches placed around the windows where you can order, and there you can eat, or you can bring the food with you back to your blankets/towels, and eat it while watching the waves, or while watching out for your belongings on the beach.
This time I didn't eat the main courses, but my experience tells me that they are okay, but not something I would visit this place actually to eat. But, the langos is easy to make and hard to fail at, so that is a great thing to taste if you every visit this place!
I should also mention it, the beach is very nice with kids. It is sand as long as the eye can see, and since it is free, this is perfect for those who want to swim in central Europe's biggest lake for free on a beautiful summer day in Hungary!

A Balatoni lángos valahogy mindig másabb mint a Budapesti. Viszont Budán a Flórián téri aluljáróban is nagyon jó lángos van.
