I've only been using Steemit for about a month, but the potential for this platform to change lives is already apparent to me, so much so that I can't stop telling my friends about it!

The Beginning

I began using Steemit after my friend John aka @foodisfree told me about a new social network that pays you to post. I immediately checked out the site and realized there was immense potential here! Not only was the layout very well designed and easy to use, but I discovered that there was a community here that was extremely positive and open minded!

Initial Success

My girlfriend Jenny @howtobelight, and I, began posting our original content, and much to our surprise, we began receiving money for our creative work, as well as uplifting and rewarding comments from some awesome people. Not only did this start conversations and spark new ideas, but it proved to us that Steemit was the best platform we've ever seen to communicate our creativity.

We felt a resurgence of hope for not only us, but all artists and creatives around the world as we realized artists could earn income by simply sharing their creations to a community who provides feedback and value. We were immediately hooked!

Whether it was sharing one of my songs, participating in the Open Mic weekly challenge, or finding some awesome blogs to learn new information from, I felt the urge to share this with everyone I knew!

Tell the World!

As I began diving into the world of cryptocurrencies, I became familiar with trading STEEM for Bitcoin, and then for USD. Realizing that this wasn't just a pipedream, but a physical reality, my mouth opened up to start sharing my newfound abundance with everyone I knew.

The topic of Steemit easily popped up in conversations, whether I was speaking to friends of mine at the local grocery store who are talented artists looking for extra income, or a neighbor who is an aspiring photographer but unsure of how to get her work seen, I found myself immediately blurting out "Have you heard of Steemit?!"

I then tried to sum up the idea of this new blockchain based, cryptocurrency fueled social network, and found myself pulling out my phone to show them my profile and the types of content I've shared. Each time, I was met with the same initial excitement that I had felt when I first heard about Steemit. Comments like, "Whatttttt!!", "Are you serious!??", and "This is amazing!!"

The Potential of Steemit and Why We Should Tell Everyone We Know About It!

The potential I see with Steemit is the reality of a global, billion user community that provides value (i.e. feedback, community, and money) to users who provide value to others. We live in a world where videos of people fighting and being reckless get the most attention on Facebook, but with Steemit, I constantly see blogs and stories providing actual value!

The way I see it, the more people who use this site, the more value we can offer each other, all with the grand idea of creating a better planet through the communication of information, creativity, art, and feedback, all while receiving income which we can all use to pay our bills and provide even more value to humanity. It is within humanity's best interest to inform others of this new abundance and help Steemit reach a critical mass, so that we can uplift from much of the centralized aspects of our world and create independent individuals worldwide.
