RE: COMIC BOOKS COMMUNITY...

Awesome! Glad to be one of the first members... I think right now it makes sense to have a pretty broad singular community due to the small userbase, but eventually I'm sure there will be a lot more specific branch off communities. I was planning on setting something up myself but ya beat me to it! Perhaps I'll be competition in the future...

Anyway, I know a bit about communities but not as an owner/moderator. I've just played around a bit in beta. The big difference is in content sorting. You can now post into a community without it being posted into your actual "blog." I think that's great for interaction as now it's more reasonable to pop into a community to pose a question or start a conversation that you might not have thrown into the wild as a "post."

beta.steempeak.com actually has communities looking sweet! And they're pioneering some features that I love! There's a cross posting feature that's similar to a "resteem with comment" idea I've clamored for for years! (I clamor pretty quietly though...)

Basically you can share a post into a community. I've gotta play around but it looks like it can be yours or someone elses, and it can even be past payout. This creates a new post showcasing the post you shared, and that original author gets 90% of the rewards, the sharer gets 5%, and the community gets 5%! Now posts past 7 days can keep earning if they keep getting shared around! YAY!

There probably a dozen of us who could set this up and it's be just fine...but I didn't want to wait around and have some bot or numbskull start one. and have up playing catch up or having to get people to look around that one in order to see ours ( which would actually serve the expressed purpose).
being able to repost older stuff is pretty sweet indeed.
I noticed a lot of changes today that are actually good and stuff I bitched that steemit needed since I fuggin got here.
anyhoo...can there be only one admin on this or what? not that the admin seems to need to do anything after forking out the 3steem, haha

I have no idea on the admin stuff, probably the reason I most want to start up a sub/niche community too, just to play around and experience the owner backend. On SteemPeak I noticed the actual community owner is another account... did the setup process give you keys to a new account as well?

@midlet has setup his OnChainArt community nicely, has a couple moderators appointed, etc. so he might be a good person to rope in here for any tips or insights from the get go. I also hope @blewitt swings by and is game for diving in as well!

Owner is the hive-xxxx account and can do whatever. There can be multiple admins and admins can set other admins and mods, mute people or posts. Mods can mute stuff, and that's it.

I was wondering if you had seen that :)

Just in the past couple hours! I'd seen you sharing some items but I hadn't explored the SteemPeak beta to really see how it worked... I was shocked and elated! 😁
