So glad you are getting back into the reading aspect again. Knock that pile down my friend!!!
It’s never gone away entirely, but I read about as much in a month as I used to read daily as a kid it seems! I wish I could blame adult responsibilities, but I think the blame lies more on internet (thanks a lot Steem!), other media, and declining mental faculties and focus!!! 🤨
Enjoy the reads, dude! :D
I don’t foresee any way I won’t!
So much good stuff to read. I'm always behind on schedule. I've recently finished the latest Murder Falcon from Daniel Warren Johnson. Awesome story about monsters and Metal music. Love the artist for the epic action scenes and great character design.
Still catching up on the famous Walking Dead... I like the comic much better than the tv show. I'd love to see an ending though. It seems to be continuing forever...
Next in line Polar! It's been adapted on screen by netflix. I like to compare movies and comics, so I have to read this.
It seems to share some dna with Sin city so I should enjoy that!
I don't mean to add any comics to your reading list. Looks like you have enough as it is. You're lucky to have all this free time.
We do have to keep getting inspired and fill up the creative bank account!
I have all of Murder Falcon to date waiting in that box, it caught my eye! I’ve read the first few Walking Dead trades through Comixology Unlimited but am nowhere near current on it. Of the three, Polar I knew nothing about, I’ve just seen it mentioned in regards to the Netflix adaptation.
Someday when there are better community/forum tools, we’ll have to set up a comic reading/discussion club on Steem!
Wide reader are said to be more intelligent @bryam-imhoff but it depends on what you read though. Enjoy your reading materials now.
Firstly, congrats on your day off!
I am always torn between collecting and minimalism. I am not a minimalist by any means, but I have tried to pare things down to make my over all life easier to manage. However, I love the decorative and objects too much for a complete clean out, however ,I have been purging things so as to highlight the things I love more. A shelf with a few objects and books seeming to make my eye more conducive to getting work done.
Yet, books/mags for me are harder. I have a LOT. And they can look orderly and nice when stored in lovely shelves, but sometimes when I go thorugh my old magazines, it can be tiresome. I have a huge collection of vintage magazines and it often makes it difficult to get through them, yet I enjoy a moment, as you are saying, of grabbing some and just enjoying a good ole read.
Enjoy your day off and your comics.
I’m with you on the paper goods... books, comics, & magazines. They probably comprised 80% of my most recent move... even when including furniture in the tally! I have that hoarder sensation of being some kind of librarian, archivist, & preservationist of the material. I also rationalize it all as reference & research resources for creative pursuits... which is true... but then again, there is this little thing called the internet! 😬
