Republik Maladewa

The Republic of Maldives is an archipelagic country composed of a collection of atolls (a coral island surrounding a lagoon) in the Indian Ocean. Maldives lies to the south-southwest of India, about 700 km southwest of Sri Lanka. The country has 26 atolls divided into 20 administrative atolls and 1 city. This country is a country with the smallest population and area in Asia. The average height of the surface of the land in the Maldives is 1.5 meters above sea level, making it the lowest surface country in the world. The highest peak of the Maldives is only 2.3 meters above sea level so that the country is also known as the country with the highest peak in the world. Maldivian economic condition depends on two main sectors, namely tourism and fisheries. The country is well known to have many beautiful beaches and underwater scenery that attract ± 700,000 tourists each year. Fish catching and processing make Maldives one of the fish exporters to some Asian and European countries.

Republik Maladewa adalah sebuah negara kepulauan yang terdiri dari kumpulan atol (suatu pulau koral yang mengelilingi sebuah laguna) di Samudra Hindia. Maladewa terletak di sebelah selatan-barat daya India, sekitar 700 km sebelah barat daya Sri Lanka. Negara ini memiliki 26 atol yang terbagi menjadi 20 atol administratif dan 1 kota. Negara ini merupakan negara dengan populasi dan luas wilayah terkecil di kawasan Asia. Tinggi rata-rata permukaan tanah di Maladewa adalah 1.5 meter di atas permukaan laut, hal ini menjadikannya negara dengan permukaan terendah di seluruh dunia. Puncak tertinggi Maladewa hanya 2.3 meter di atas permukaan laut sehingga negara ini juga dikenal sebagai negara yang memiliki puncak tertinggi paling rendah di dunia. Keadaan ekonomi Maladewa bergantung pada dua sektor utama, yaitu pariwisata dan perikanan. Negara ini sangat dikenal memiliki banyak pantai yang indah dan pemandangan bawah laut yang menarik ± 700.000 turis setiap tahunnya. Penangkapan dan pengolahan ikan menjadikan Maladewa salah satu ekportir ikan ke beberapa negara Asia dan Eropa.
