About 2 years ago I’ve written about the ‘best’ time to submit a blogpost so you’ll receive worldwide exposure.

I came up with the term 4 o'clocky and I thought this might be a great idea to make a blogpost every day at 4 o'clock local time with this title. Every day I’ll submit a blogpost about something that keeps me busy, a challange, a contest or something important enough to share so Lets blog on and See you every day here at 4 !

This is My 4 o’clocky for today...

I catched a mole today. Well two and not me myself but the man who put up the trap. He was ruining the grass so it had to be done. The kids had a day of and I didn’t know that the trap would be fill. So we made a biology lesson out of it. The claws and mouth was great to tell something about.

Offcourse I used Wikipedia as my source because I only knew they had a black fur and sweet face. But seeing our grass go to waste it wasn’t so nice anymore.

The mole has a short black velvet coat. Thanks to a random placement of the hairs in the skin, this allows him to move through the corridors just as easily forwards and backwards. With most mammals, the hairs are placed in a certain direction, usually to the rear, but with the mole the hairs can tilt in the skin attachment so that they do not get stuck in the corridor walls when it scribbles backwards.

###The color of the coat is generally black. Color varieties represent less than 1% of the total population. Albinos are rare, animals with a spotted coat (usually on the belly side) are more common. Due to iron oxides in the soil, lighter animals often turn orange or yellow.

Characteristic of the mole are the forelegs, transformed into large digging hands, each with five fingers with pointed nails and a thumb, with which the animal digs the underground passages. The mole has small, poorly developed eyes with a diameter of only one millimeter; however, he is not blind. His most important sense is his pointed pink muzzle that contains sensitive whiskers and touch nerves. His little tail always points up.

The head-rom length of a mole varies from 11 to 16 cm. The tail length is 22 to 45 mm, the rear foot length 16 to 23 mm. The weight is between 65 and 140 grams. The female is on average 10 mm smaller than the male and 25 grams lighter.

The mole guy said this were two females. So I guess I ordered two murders 3 days ago. Oh well we always still have the pictures. After the catch, the kids and our sweet friend from school.

Moles! Funny little doods. Too bad they crossed the line and screwed with your grass. Big mistake.

They are funny but they are terrorists in the garden

Well, kinda sad about the little critters, but the damage would have continued.

The grass was ruined we had to kill them

My little Arlo is obsessed with catching moles! No success yet, but his presence does keep the mole population down.

With Charlie and Joey we had the same the last 4 years but this year the grass looks like planet mars !!

Wow! 😂😮😉

Oh no the poor little creatures but they can be so destructive! Wish they would move away from the suburbs. Hubby lined our veggie gardens with a Bidim cloth so the moles can't get through and destroy our veggies. Love your 4 o'clocky concept, I've often wondered what would be the best time to get most people awake and reading;)
Good biology lesson for the kids!

The kids felt sad but the little football field gets ruined

I know the feeling!

I have mole problems in my garden and I let the cat catch them. also I use a sort of windmill to vibrate the soil which they hate to keep them away.
I can't quite handle catching them in a trap.
They are interesting critters but they sure can do a lot of damage.

Normally the dogs scare them but this is the first year they moved in and killed the play field

What big claws they have. Interesting critters but as you mentioned they are becoming pests in your garden. Any other way to repell these critters?

not enough for tailoring a manto, huh ?..

Well there is a whole family so ..... 😉😂

Eww those are so gross. No kidding they hid underground.
