Hair Story

The secret of Samson’s unusual strength in the biblical story of Samson and Delilah, was in his long hair. When Delilah cut his hair when he was asleep, he lost his extraordinary strength and the undefeatable Samson was eventually captured and blinded by his enemies.
There is an experience in the Vietnam war that was neglected and not many people knew about that reveals a similar mystery about long hair. The US military thought of utilizing the almost supernormal skills and abilities of indigenous Americans as trackers and scouts in the war effort. With rigorous testing and documentation of their skills, many American Indian young men were found and enlisted in the US Special Forces. When deployed in actual combat, after all the needed preparations, including having their long hairs cut, they were found to have no more of their unusual skills for which they were recruited. Some of the older recruits said that after their haircut, they no longer have their skills and intuitive abilities.

It is noteworthy that Sikhism, the fifth largest religion with its 30 million adherents, forbids the cutting of hair of its male members.
