Textiles, Tea & Treats

in #creativity9 years ago

Sound like your slice of crafters paradise? I have been collecting reclaimed fabric for five years now. My studio is bulging. We are heading into Autumn here in Australia but it is time to give my studio a 'spring clean.'

I am hosting a fabric mini market next weekend at my Recycled Gallery to find new homes for a large portion of my stash. We are putting on breakfast treats, free hot cuppa and music. It is going to be fabulous.

It has been hard to let go of some pieces but fabric should be enjoyed and used, not stashed away for years just incase.

These are a few sweet flay lay scenes I created today to use in the event promotion.

The sorting process is both cleansing and lovely - it is amazing what sentimentality can be attached to gorgeous bits of threads.

And here is something a little less glamorous

...the mess in my studio waiting for me tomorrow.

Until next time,

xx Isabella

I like the glimpse behind the wizard's curtain- I'm not the only one with a messy working space! I'm looking to run some workshops in the summer that combine cake eating with art- I think it is a winning combination!

Looks like a busy workroom!

wow, so beautiful pieces of fabrics!!!! I love to collect some pieces of nice fabrics, especially if they are funny, colored, sweet and awesome! Simply watching them, my mind can fly between positive thougths ^_^

i too like seeing your workspace! good luck with your event and may it help you clear out what needs to move on. xo
