A bowerbirds fantasy

This has been an adventurous transformation. The old juice factory shed adjoining my shop is lined with awesome rustic floor boards. At the start of the year it was empty, dusty, dirty and in desperate need of creative energy. There is something magical about this space. So a little over six months ago, I decided to expand my Recycled Gallery shop and take over this space.  Two hundred square metres of blank canvas that oozes funky feel good vibes.  

My ideas are constantly evolving, but my original vision was to turn this place into something creative and social. I always wanted it to be more than just an extension of my shop.  So after a good scrub down, I set to work converting it into a dreamy, inviting and artistic chilled out space.   

This weekend the shed came alive

I hosted a Vintage Rummage Market here. 

Organising events, even on a small scale is time consuming and involved. When all is finished and ready, you just never know if the weather is going to behave and if people will come.   

We scored the loveliest sunny warm spring day (amid a week of rain) and people turned out in droves. I feel humbled by the show of support. I adored watching people enjoy themselves, explore all the nooks and fossick around for treasures.  The shed looked particularly magical and most importantly, full of smiling happy people. 

 I love how old/interesting things full of character find new homes and owners to cherish them.   

We had a sweet curated selection of stalls, rummage tables, free craft project room, music by DJ Kitty Kat, kids corner and a bohemian lounge serving up cake and refreshments. 

We rolled out chairs, lounges and rugs onto the front lawn to enjoy the sunshine.   

It was a quaint rural community event with a cool funky atmosphere - just what the shed needed! 

I am utterly exhausted now but a happy exhausted!
