We Lost Our Keys At The Beach In California

I was blown away by how hot it was North of Los Angeles and then how cold it was at the beach. It was basically 95 degrees inland and then it was 65 at the beach. I was shivering like mad before I even got in the water. My blood has thinned being out here in Arizona. I still got in the water and boogie boarded though.

The first spot we went to where the first picture was taken was too rocky. We got in the water and there were rocks below so we decided to go a little bit more South to another beach that had a sand break. We got there and there were rip tides so we were working around those. I figured with how cold it was and the fact that we didn't have wetsuits that we would last about 30 minutes max.

We saw a pod of dolphins riding waves. This picture isn't the greatest but they were all in the wave at this point.

We boogie boarded until it was almost dark and then that is when Phil realized we had lost the keys. We checked every spot we were in and couldn't find them. They had a strap connected to them so we have no clue how we could have really lost them. We have a feeling they got stolen. We had no towels or anything and I was shivering like mad. We went to the lifeguard main station to see if someone turned the keys in. They hadn't but the lifegaurds were nice enough to let us have a couple towels to try to stay warm and a flashlight to go back out and look for the keys. We never did find them. Luckily Phil's dad had an extra set of keys for that car and we had to wait another couple of hours in the cold to get rescued.

As you can see I was beaten into submission by the cold. :-(

Things could have been way worse so it wasn't the end of the world. Hopefully I can take another trip out to California again. That trip surprisingly only cost me $74 for gas and food. Phil was a great tour guide when it comes to the different areas and parks of California.
