Primative Swimming Pool
These dudes built a small little swimming pool by hand. It is actually pretty insane they put in all this work for the YouTube channel but it is very intriguing. A lot of it made sense like how they used the clay to create the tub so the water wouldn't just soak into the ground. This is common when someone is going to build a pond in Indiana. Oftentimes you have to do a soil survey to make sure there is enough clay where you are going to dig the pond and then there has to be enough springs running into it and it is best to have an out flow as well so the water is always getting circulated.
At the end they had a naked pool meeting. LOL
Pools are constant work. For these guys I would be worried leaches or something would get in the pool after a couple of days or perhaps snakes.
There is always something that needs to be done to maintain a pool.

After a day it will bred mosquito larvae not to mention toads who will plunge in.
LOL. No to mention the leaches that will nibbling at their balls when they are in there naked. These guys are unreal. I watched another video of them catching a duck by hand and the river water they were in looked much scarier than the home made pool will look after 5 days!
i remember the posts of you re-sealing and re-tiling your pool.
It has been a lot of work. Today it felt nice. I like it when the water is cooler and I'm able to listen to my music and feel like I'm on vacation again for a minute.
When you mentioned leeches reminded me of a time we went swimming as kids in Minnesota. We went to a lake which normally I don't expect to have leeches but my buddy came out of the water and ran to his mom, we were kids at the time, he had a leech on his dick. I don't recall how they got it off but definitely not a pleasant experience I'm sure.
My folks used to have a pool, it was nice but here in the midwest we just don't have enough nice weather to make it worth all the cost and effort for such a short season. One thing I would like to see that nobody makes that I've thought about creating myself is almost like a lounge pool. Basically make a concrete mold just deep enough for your body to be submersed in with a bit of an arch like a lounge chair. Basically be able to lay out and sun while still being under the water and because of the size it would be easy to fill and empty as needed, no need for clorein or anything Almost something like this but much smaller
that is crazy. We used to swim in these gravel pits all the time and usually we wouldn't get leaches but I think a couple of times it happened to kids. I loved swimming in some of those. There was one that they built a little park at and it had a rope swing and a couple of diving boards and water slides. I have a lot of good memories from there. I also have a lot of good memories from going to the Dunes. I really like lake Michigan.
Did you ever end up getting to surf out there?
I saw this and thought about you. LOL
haha funny you ask about that. I wanted to buy a camper van last week and my gf said to me, rememer that winter surfing you were going to do, the board and wetsuit is still sitting in your closet. I tend to get these little obsessions with hobbies and then they pass.
I really do love the water and surfing and stuff, unfortunately the good surf is either in SE wisconsin or SW michigan which is a bit of a hike. The waves here are all created by storms so you cant go out anyday you otta wait for a storm and unfortunately havn't really had any storms on the weekends and weekdays im tied up.
I made it out one time, paddled around a bit but the waves were shit. I saw some paddleboards at costco and I think that may be a better fit for me, you can still surf on them but you can also paddle around and have fun even if there's no waves and I'd get some use out of it in summer time. Debating whether to get a couple kayaks for me and my gf or whether to get the paddleboard. Costo's got some great deals on summer stuff right now
I know what you mean. The waves have to be right. Have you thought about taking some trips to Cali or South Carolina and hitting some waves in some other places as well?
Think I'll stick to my paddling pool- that looks a little too murky for me.
