The Green Bay Packers are offering 300,000 shares of stock for sale at a price of $300 each. Sounds fun right!?
Wrong! The shares are not worth anything, cannot be transferred/resold, do not share in any team profits, do not pay any dividends, don't go up in value, don't give you decision making rights, etc - it is a piece of paper for a fan. You do get to go to an annual shareholder's meeting, so maybe that is worth it for some people.
The last stock offering was 10 years ago, and then was $250 so not much of an increase . They are using the $90 million in proceeds for stadium construction projects.
How they are going to sell all 300,000 shares is a mystery to me!
