Desertscape Photography
My wife's parents live about an hour away from us and we went to their house today as there was a funeral for a family friend that we all went to. Their house is located in an area of Southern California known as the "high desert".
From where I live, it is less than an hour's drive to the beach, mountains or desert, so there is a lot of climate and landscape variety in a short distance.
Whenever we visit, I am always captivated by the desert, particularly the rock formations that form small hills and mini mountains, perhaps because it is so different from what I normally experience.
I was able to take a few pictures of the landscape today while trying to keep Kendra entertained and happy during the memorial service. Jacob was watched by his great grandma who also lives in the area, but Kendra is just too small to have someone watch, so we took her with us.
Here are a few pictures we snapped:
We explored the area a little while getting the pictures, however, true to its reputation, the desert was hot and we ended up needing to cool off in the air conditioned car for a while. I think Kendra had a good time, and it was certainly a great bonding experience!
