High Court stalls Brexit

In a shock move, The High Court has rules that parliamentary approval is needed for Britain to leave the European Union.
The Lord Chief Justice, Lord Thomas of Cwmgiedd, gave the Court's verdict to a packed courtroom. As the decision to leave effects an Act of Parliament, the approval of Parliament is needed.
The Government will appeal this decision to the Supreme Court. They argue that the matter falls within the Royal Prerogative.
While this may delay Brexit, it cannot stop it. It is inconceivable that the will of the people, expressed in a referendum, can be blocked.

I support brexit. It will help bring down EU and when EU goes down, the member countries will gain back their independence. It might even break Euro which would also be a good thing for the people.
This is interesting.
I think at the very least this could open up the possibility of dissent amongst opponents of Brexit and the feeling that a lot of lies were used to get people to vote "Leave".
I have spoken to quite a few people that voted in favour of Brexit and feel that they were tricked into doing so by Politicians such as Boris Johnson who were doing it purely for career reasons.
They feel that had they known the truth of the economic impact and lies that were told (e.g. regarding NHS funding) they would have voted to Remain.
I very much doubt that this is the end of the matter.
If the public opinion/ vote was based on falsehoods and it is seen that some of the pro-Brexit campaigners misrepresented facts then it can call the legitimacy of the vote into doubt.
There were lies on both sides, to be quite honest. I didn't believe any of it, and only finally decided how I was going to vote on the day.
But it is decided. This decision by the courts (which the Government will challenge) will cause delay, possibly, and confusion. But it won't stop it.
I think you're right but who knows for sure.
Rubbish, remainers claim that the leave side promised £350 million to the NHS, this is false, Vote Leave only said that we could 'take back control' of the money and spend SOME on the NHS. The Remain side however lied about many things such as 'there are no plans for an EU army'.
Both sides had an equal chance to present their case and the vote was fair and square.

While, as others have written, it doesn't say that all money will be going to the NHS, it also doesn't say that e.g. only £1 is guaranteed to NHS because we must back the fees of the brexit. So it's still a dirty trick, imo.
Anyway, the brexit is a good lesson for the world about a lot of things.
That there is a political promise.
We spend this money over here... so I am sure we could spend it over there.
When they don't actually have the money, nor the power to divert the money, nor the desire to put the money all there, if they did.
It's typical political tactics. This is why I trust neither side. They always do whatever it takes to get the result which suits THEM and not the country.
And there we were all thinking that England was a democracy. Half of the Twitterverse is blaming Islam which had nothing to do with the failure to uphold the people's will. They should blame the corporations instead; without the EU they'd lose those giant grants.

On November 5th, the parliament should get together and have a discussion.
