SOL another crypto for social media platform. Does it worth looking into?

Cryptocurrency, The first time I heard about it was probably about year ago. My colleague was talking about bitcoin and for the life of me I couldn't understand what he was talking about. I just couldn't grasp the idea of somebody just creating money out of nowhere and people just buying into it without any back up from the government! like what?!? How do you trust anybody or anything like that!. 

Then maybe about a month ago my husband brought it up and he was watching videos after videos on YouTube. I still didn't get it then. He finally had to search for bitcoin for dummies. And sure enough after watching this 2 mins video I finally get it. I understand how it works but still hesitate to invest in any coins. Maybe the lack of knowledge on everything else that come with it i guess. The wallet, The exchange and so many different types of coins out there. Which one do you choose? 

We'd looked into various ways to get into crypto world slowly and safely, I guess? We'd looked into mining and that still requires us to put in quite a bit of money to start and we are definitely not a computer geniuses here. Then we'd come across a video on YouTube about the Steemit.

It sounded groovy! Sounded very simple just start writing and earn some money! RIIIIIIIIIGHT! There are fine prints in those videos I missed!. I'm not trying to be a downer or begging for sympathy here but to get exposure on Steemit is almost impossible unless you spend money to promote your blog and even then if your blog doesn't get attention from the whales then forget about it! It doesn't matter how good your blog is or how much time or heart you put into it. Earning roughly .30 cents a blog is quite disappointing.  

However I'm not giving up. I'm writing everyday and hoping that one day I will write something that "worth reading"or "worth upvoting" I guess. 

Anyway i'm getting way off the topic here. I just wanted to get those thoughts of my chest. 

I am actually writing today to talk about this decentralized social media platform called Sola. Its' a bit like Instagram except you earn money or earn their currency out of your posts. Their currency is SOL. You can read about the coin and its white paper here.

When you start, I believe they give you 200AP to start. 

What is AP?

AP or Attention Points are the points you earn when attracting attention to the app by logging in, browsing through, and sharing information outside. You can spend AP to create content and to endorse cards and comments you find interesting.

What if I run out of AP?

You can still browse Sola regularly if you’re run out of AP. You won't be able to create content though. To earn more AP: browse, share the information outside, or come back next day to get the Daily bonus.

You will earn SOL when people see your contents.

What is SOL?

SOL is a cryptocurrency that you can earn for creating relevant content at Sola. When users endorse cards and comments they find interesting, an author gets an amount of SOL equal to an amount of AP, spent on the endorsement.

What can I do with SOL?

You can use SOL for various services inside Sola, or withdraw it to your Ethereum Wallet.

Here is how you browse in Sola.

When you swipe up, you endorse the author’s card with the amount of AP, from 1 to 100. The card spreads to a number of users near you.

When you swipe down, you skip the card, not rewarding it with the AP and it will not be spread any further from your device.

If you want to undo your last action just shake your phone. No, seriously. Just shake your phone.
