Thinking and Believing Will Cause Doing and Receiving
It is not hard to understand how thinking and believing will cause doing and receiving. What is difficult is understanding how a belief, a new belief, in and of itself, can cause action. Since beliefs are old, traditional and classical, it can be difficult to understand how thinking and believing cause doing and receiving.
The process of changing a belief can be relatively simple, if it is done from the correct source. One way to change a belief is to practice a belief without changing it at all. This is called renouncing the belief or renouncing its effects on the part of others. When one renounces a belief one has to make sure that the cause of the belief is also renounced as well.
For example, if someone believes that he is a "curious" person, and then practices being a curious, he might even believe that the curiosity has caused him to be curious. In this way, when he finds something interesting he can then realize that the cause of his curiosity was the belief that he was a curious person. He then renounces the belief that made him curious, or at least regrets the effect on his curiosity.
Another way to change a belief is to place it on some other condition that needs to be changed. In this way the cause of the belief is also removed from the process of changing it. For example, if someone was suffering from terrible pain he might think that he could change his condition by following a new exercise regime. Once the cause of the pain has been removed, he can also change the exercise regime.
The principle of identifying a belief as the cause of doing and receiving is actually quite useful, and is of great importance to those who believe that thinking and believing cause doing and receiving. In one way it means that if you want to change a belief you have to remove all the causes of the belief first. In other words, all the factors that make the belief possible are removed first.
There are various reasons why beliefs can be overcome. One reason is that an entire belief system can be turned on its head. This is important because if the process of turning a belief on its head could be reversed, then it would then be possible to turn it back on itself.
Another reason why beliefs can be turned around is that it is always possible to change the beliefs of those with whom we come into contact. This is because we cannot change people by ourselves.
Thus, the main thing to remember when thinking and believing will cause doing and receiving is that all we need to do is be able to recognize what our beliefs are before we change them. As soon as we recognize these beliefs we can then change them. And if we are willing to practice changing the beliefs of others, then it is possible to change their beliefs as well.
