How to help others to change?

Wanting to change people is not a bad desire. In many cases, we really need to take action to change our surroundings. Maybe it's our friend, our coworker, or our family member who need change for the better.

If your feel it's absolutely necessary to help someone so the person can change for better then you should go for it. But the hard truth is you will always find it very difficult to change someone. Many times it will feel nearly impossible if that person doesn't have any commitment and intention to change.

But there is something helpful which can let us figure out how to change someone. Let's see!

• First we need to understand our motivation. Before you take any action to change someone, ask yourself what changes you want to see, will the change helpful for them, if they really want to change, etc?

• And then identify the root cause of the problem. Maybe that person who needs to change know the problem or maybe don't. Try to search for the source of their problem.

• Find out what can motivate the person to change. There should be some rewarding, meaningful, and, lasting reasons to change. Otherwise no matter how much you try a person will not change.

Now after deciding you really want to change and making your plan of action, you can go forward. You should lead with empathy to show them support and the right part so they can follow and motivated by them.

Another thing is, understanding their psychology. If you don't know their intention and reason you can't actually help. Knowing them well can help you to explain as per their intention about the benefits of change. You can try to be the partner of their change.
Help them, support them, push them to do better. And it will always be nice if you can establish a role model by yourself, so they can follow you.

It's true that changing someone is a lot of work and needs a passion for it. But I think following these will help us.
