The Farmers Daughter!!!

This Farmer is blessed to have one amazing little girl for a daughter. My first two children were boys. Everyone always said how different a daughter is than a son. I always thought they were crazy. Come to find out there is something different about having a daughter. It is not that I lover her any more or less than my sons. I think it has to do with the fact that she is my little girl. I am not sure how to put it into words, but it does feel different.

My daughter has overcome so much in her short life. She was born with three holes in her heart and at four months old had to have open heart surgery. They wanted to wait until she was six months old but she was not going to make it that long. Those were hard days for our family but by the grace of God she pulled through and is a perfectly healthy little girl.

She brings so much joy to our lives. She is the youngest, but that does not stop her from keeping up with her big brothers. She is always ready to go out and help do the chores on the homestead. She also has a very sensitive side with the animals.

If you are blessed enough to have a daughter or granddaughter, give them a big hug today and tell them how much you love them. God has blessed me with this little girl to raise and take care of. It is an awesome responsibility and one that I cherish. We need to encourage our little girls that they are beautiful and intelligent, and that they can do anything they want to. I feel our society is hardest on these precious little girls wanting them to grow up too fast and to mature before their time. It is my prayer that my little girl will grow up to know that she is perfect just the way she is and that she doesn’t have to change for anyone.
