2 Minutes with the Farmer: Moving Chickens to the Chicken Tractor!!!
Today here on 2 Minutes with the Farmer join us as we move our meat chickens to the chicken tractor. We are trying to raise all our own meat here on the farm. My dad made this chicken tractor to rotate the chickens around to fresh grass every day. We will have some delicious NonGMO, pasture raised poultry.
Thank you for spending 2 minutes with me!

Howdy sir Farmer! what in the world? never heard of such a contraption! How does it move around?
It is manual. You it has wheels you put down and the back and then just drag it. It works great. Helps to furtilze the yard and keeps chickens on fresh grass
And the chickens stay inside that thing? That's pretty ingenius. Is your dad an engineer?
Yup they seem to really like it. My dad is just a jack of all trades
He sure is sir Farmer, too bad you didn't take after him! lol.
Just teasing, you seem to be one too.
Hello my friend! :D
That chicken tractor cage looks great. :D I have a silly question for you though, why are the tires on the top of it instead of the bottom of it as expected? :D
I love the way your eldest son thinks, "barbecue chicken", yum. :D
God bless you and your wonderful family. :D Have an awesome day my fabulous friend! :D
That is a great question. They do go on the bottom but dad built holders for them up there then when u want to move the cage you put them in the bottom brackets. He was afraid if we left it off the ground on the tires then predictors would get in. Have a great evening my friend
Why thank you, I come up with them on rare occasions and this happened to be one of them, LOL. :D
Of course, that makes a lot of sense, nobody wants predators near their chickens, and its great that he came up with a solution by putting the wheels up there when not being moved and moving them down when you're ready to move them. :D
Farm Fresh home grown yum We have not raised meat chickens for quite a while but I sure miss it.
