Hello all! We are very excited to be a part of this informative and entertaining community, and we look forward to watching it grow even more. Matter of fact, we plan on being here awhile, hence the reason we're hanging up our jackets and rolling up our sleeves!

I'm Baker (the ugly guy with the beard), and my wife is Ashlie (the beautiful girl without the beard), and together we own a small business called Bourn Adventure which focuses on documenting our travels (domestic and international) along with discussing the adventure vehicles we use for our road trips. On top of that, we also sell stickers, patches, and other products geared around adventure, outdoor life, exploring, and other topics.

Bourn Adventure is based in Louisiana, but since the majority of our content is online, our office is wherever adventure takes us. Being United States citizens our primary focus has been to Explore America through extensive road trips, some more than five weeks long, covering more than 10,000 miles, and visiting 27 states on a single trip.

We know that not everyone has the desire, opportunity or ability to get out there and explore the world, America or even their own area. That is why one of our goals early on was to provide people with content and to encourage them to get out there and take adventures no matter how large or small. For those who can not do so, we invite them to live vicariously through us by way of our website (https://www.bournadventure.com/) or through our social media pages like Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/BournAdventure/). While on the road, we have often met up with people who were actively following our pages, getting to know them in person. Another benefit to sharing our journey in real time (via social media), is giving people an opportunity to become involved in our adventure by recommending places to see, stay or eat.

Over the last few years, we have met thousands of people while on the road, and have seen some of the most amazing, breathtaking sites America has to offer. We are truly thankful that life has allowed us to see, and do, so much and even more grateful that we can share these experiences and places with so many other people. Although there is still so much we want to see in America, we plan on turning our attention to international travel very soon.

Some of the areas we have visited are very well known and popular sites, or National Parks, some are not. Either way, our goal is to help bring more attention to these areas and to become a resource for people to use when they plan their trips. It is mind-blowing what is out there for people to explore that they overlook or simply are not aware of, even in their own "backyard".

As time goes on, we will post more and more articles about our adventures, vehicles and other topics, which we hope you will find informative and entertaining. More About Baker:

Born and raised in Washington state. I eventually moved to Illinois where I attended a junior college and later joined the United States Army, which took me back out to Washington. While in the military, I did two combat deployments to Iraq. Once out of the Army, I moved around the country for awhile before finally settling in Louisiana where I met my wife, Ashlie.

More About Ashlie:

Raised and educated in Louisiana, I graduated in Dietetics from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. I have a passion for art and music as well as an extensive list of hobbies to keep me busy while Bake spends hours trying to get that perfect shot (he takes way too many pictures). Between work, the business, road trips, and hobbies, there's never a dull moment at the Baker household.

More About Bourn Adventure:

Bourn Adventure started out as Bakes FJ, which was a small business built around our 2012 Toyota FJ Cruiser. While owning the FJ, we traveled to all lower 48 states (some several times), parts of Canada, and attended several off-road events.

Our Toyota FJ Cruiser was simply named "The FJ" and gained popularity in the off-road community due to our travels, pictures, and a few silly videos we put out. Sadly, the FJ was totaled in January 2017 after I put her belly up on a snow-covered road in Oregon.

Ashlie and I decided we did not want the rollover to be the end of our story or the end of Bakes FJ. In fact, we want to start a new chapter! Bourn Adventure is just that. We now have motorcycles, a MINI Cooper and a Lexus GX470 that we use as our new adventure vehicles, with additional makes and models to follow later on. The name has changed, but the adventure remains the same!

One of the definitions for Bourn is, "a goal or destination." We figured that paired well with our adventurous spirit and desire to share experiences with others.

To date, we estimate we have traveled about 95,000 miles just on road trips. Our main hope and goal with Bourn Adventure is to encourage people to get out there and explore, then share their stories with others.

The world is a large place, and life is short. Together, we can accomplish much more than we ever could alone.
