Fragility of so called CryptoCurrencies

Hi ! This is a grumpy post about the fragility of ALL CryptoCurrencies. I am in a bad mood and in the annoying bee mode.

No Scalability: none of them are really scalable, whatever you love it does not change the big picture: none is able to cope with the humanity scale, and another level magnitude that will be required by the forthcoming needs.

Not a Currency: Nearly all of them are more like commodities (Gold for instance) and not a currency. In this context, I make a reference at the mean of exchange of the currency and not the store of value.

Risk of Censorship: Proof of Work miners can censor you by fees, or they have to censor you due to government pressure (lack of fungeability). This is potentially the same story for Proof of Stake too. It is the same to implement a Consensus to allow a transaction or to perform censorship.

Early Adopter Advantage: You can take nearly all deflationary, fake inflationary coins like Steem or finite like IOTA, it is always the same story the bound of the supply is nearly fixed, if you are early it is cheaper, you take more and if you have enough you can play with its value (pump and dump...). Yes, liquidity is a problem.

Privacy/Tracking: Nearly all Exchanges/Banks due to the legal framework have to be able to track each person and each risky transaction. Those are the end-points for most of the people. Banks recently stall accounts for a few Exchanges in Bulgaria.

Personally, I think what really matters is the size of the network, its daily volume and the mass adoption at the scale of the planet. What matters for me as a customer: fees are just there to pay for the network infrastructure, the storage and enough "security", we need to have competition at this level as a free market and let the customer have the choice: it does make sense to give an hardcoded amount of tokens for mining, let the market decide.
