Isn't That A Shame 2 : A more than 5 Minutes Freewrite
"For you to have come this far on this journey shows you are a creature of absolute convictions" Maazi tapped on his brother's back and admonish him the more to press on. He has been so confident in him since his ambition started materialising. His vision of having a country ruled free and fair, a family bonded in love and not on money. An economy runned for its people. This presidential candidate seems to know all the way out of all our miseries and we for once believed so much in him.
His mounting the podium was iconic, that day, he was accompanied by the party chairman and his wife. The music playing in the background through the heavily mounted speakers at every corner of the stadium was enough to make the songs sink in and create a goose bumps. The hope of our nation, the ray of a new beginning. His big white cassock-like garments also add to the gallantry. A man whose record echoes straight through out his administration in his state. He helped turned his state to a first class among other and later brought more than neccesary development to his senatorial district.
Mounting the podium that day with each steps carefully. Though he looks weak and frail, we knew his words are like a mighty spartan army with there spears firmly fixed in there hand. It will never be forgotten in a hurry in this country. Those at home watching the first camping trip knew they've missed a lot by not seeing face to face the messiah of this age. Some religious leaders have taken it so far once with him by calling him God's incarnate. No man could take that title, only God himself.
And now it was time for the speech, the shouting here and there have subsided, time to listen.
"Fellow Countryman and women gathered here today, am here for no other reason than to save my country from the hands of those who pride themselves as the owner. Cabals who wouldn't let the common man live in peace, hidden governments who lurks in corner with their wand of corruption and cast a spell of poverty on the common man. What do we owe them, who do we run to, we can't continue like this, Isn't that a shame? "
He coughed severally to continue his speech which he never did. The shameless one wouldn't let him finish his speech that glorious day, I heard he will be buried next week.
