Rabindra Jadeja is undoubtedly one of the best Test all-rounder of all time. Throughout his career, his batting has been un- or under-utilized with an average of 24 bowling has been neglected from time to time! Since his debut, India have played a total of 94 Tests, but he has only had the opportunity to play 56 Tests! In first-class cricket, with an average of 48.90, three triple centuries and a few double hundred, he has played more than half of his career as a tail ender, in nine and eight, so often he didn't need to bat, or when he did, he needed to run fast to meet the team's needs.

The captain's declaration did not give him a double ton (Jadeja said he had promised to declare it himself, as it would be possible to get out quickly if Sri Lanka were sent to bat after a long fielding)! Not getting this opportunity became synonymous with his career. There were a lot of not out fifty innings, if given a chance to get a century! The only century before that was given by Kohli, he declared as soon as he reached 100 *, but he didn't get much opportunity!

If he had got a chance yesterday, he would have become the owner of a double century, just like if he got a chance in his career, the number of centuries would have increased a lot, the number of runs, the average of runs would have been much higher now! My guess is that the way Jadeja's batting average has been rising rapidly over the last two-three years and the batting average of his rival all-rounders has been declining and the bowling average has been increasing. No one will have any excuse to accept him as the best Test all-rounder of modern times!
