SPRINGTIME ADVENTURES , episode 14 - Where the wild roses grow
These days I spend most of my time outdoors, photographing with a small compact camera the explosion of colors and life in nature that surrounds me.
And yesterday I had a morning meeting with these, kind of famous, flowers
These shrubs are a big part of the compact '' walls '' of intersecting vegetation near the sea and there is always some action around these flowers
Spiders are waiting in ambush
While the bees ...
... and hoverflies ... collect the nectar
This beautiful shiny beetle likes roses very much and can be found in great numbers both on wild and on cultivated roses in gardens
This more modest looking one too
Yep, the life of these insects is spent mostly around roses
This is another flower loving beetle
While this colorful bug is hiding deeper in the shrub, in the shade, between the leaves
And so, I was was walking around the bushes
Taking pictures
And the flowers were all the same ... but also kinda different at the same time
So, I took a lot of pictures
And I could not decide which ones to exclude from the post
So, I put them all. This flower is filled with very small black beetles
These roses are usually white with traces of pink ...
But occasionally they come in this version, with more intense and saturated color
And when the lovely petals fall down, it looks like this
And that's all about roses ... have a good day ... or night ... wherever you are ...
( As always on these posts on steemit, all the photographs are my work. )

:) It was some kind of beetle ballet for regular visitors.
Howdy sir borjam! wow another amazing set of photos with great close ups! The wonder of nature. God's gift to us. Hey what do you do in the wintertime when it's bitter cold out?
Well :) is just a bit cold, not very bitter, it's a short and mild winter ... is more like colder part of the autumn with some stronger then usual wind and rain, but without the particularly low temperatures, a little bit of snow can fall every 10 or 15 years and stay for a day or two... that is on the coast where I live ... but just 50 kilometers inland the winters are real winters, I visit these places, small towns surrounded by hills, to get me some winter fillings. But even with this mild winter, there are not many insects around, and that is good because then I can persuade myself to stay at home and do some drawing, painting and illustration work.
howdy sir borjan! Thanks for the explanation..you are also an artist?
Do you sell any of your work?
Yes :) every time I can.
