On this spring day, it is customary to chant mother-nature, which "wakes up" after a long winter. In other words, it is a holiday of spring and heat, which our ancestors celebrated in honor of the goddess of the Slavic pantheon of Lada - the patroness of love and marriage.
Some researchers believe that Lada is one of two birth-goddesses (similar gods are in the pantheons of almost all Indo-European peoples). Meanwhile, Mikhail Vasilyevich Lomonosov compared Lada with Venus.
The Feast of Tradition was traditionally accompanied by Slavs with special rituals. All praise the awakening nature. Girls and young people hold the first round dance dedicated to the Goddess Lada, the patroness of love and marriage.
Women climb on roofs of houses, on hills, on high haystacks and, having lifted hands to the sky, call for spring. Cranes are again made from the test. Usually these birds from lean dough are put on a high place - above the door, like amulets, to save space.
With Ladozheniye there is a belief that birds come back from Iria, a Slavic paradise, and therefore it is customary to imitate the dances of birds - kobenitsya (remember the expression: what are you kekobenivaeshsya?). These ancient rites are associated with the return to earth of the solar power of Life.
